Local Events
Here is a small list of recommended local bike rides, local runs.
Broad Street Run Philly
May. A great run. 10 miles. It is not all downhill, the first 5 miles roll and the last 5 are level with a downward slope all the way to the Naval Yard. Very inspirational. Thousands of well-wishers come out and support the runners. Great transportation as well. Park at the sports complexes and then take the train up Broad Street to the start. The run finishes in the Naval Facility and you can walk back to your vehicle.

Philly Half-Marathon
September. Another great Philly run. Philly is regarded as a great city to do a fast run. Fairly level terrain and not out in the open where you might get large winds. Like the Broad Street Run, the Half-marathon is well supported by rest stops and thousands of well-wishers. Start & finish near the Art Museum. If you go early enough you can find street parking in the area, if you don't, pay for the day parking as spots are difficult to find.
Livestrong Philly
August. Starts at Montgomery County Community College. 5k Run/Walk 10, 40, 70, 100 mile rides. A great ride through Montgomery County. Be aware, this is very hilly terrain. Very well supported charity ride. When not busy, Lance shows up. Benefits the Lance Armstrong Cancer Foundation. We have a big group of riders that do this every year, so come join our team!

Bucks County Covered Bridge
October. Dress Warm. This ride always seems to be very hit or miss with the weather change. If it's is decent weather, it's a fantastic ride in our backyard. Very hilly terrain, there are rides on both Saturday & Sunday that are well supported. Meets in Tinicum Park up River Road. It never takes 15 minutes to get there, though it looks that close on the map!
Mercer County Triathlon
July. 2010 will mark our first time at this event. But since it is another event in our backyard, might as well check it out. Registration for triathlons are extremely popular right now, so if you're interested, sign up, because they sell out quickly. We have a group of people already signed up, & we'll be training for this through the year. If you are interested in joining one of our rides, runs, let us know.
