Mountain Bikes

Firehouse Cycles is excited to become a Specialized FSR Test Center for the upcoming 2011 season!  We are awaiting a couple of great test bicycles to arrive.  We will have the StumpJumper Comp 29er and the new Camber 29er for your test ride.   We believe the 29er is the best choice for a Mountain bike in our area. They are great for riding right here in the area on the Yardley Canal with kids or bombing up to New Hope.  29ers are great for aggressive off road areas like Bald Pate Mountain just 10 minutes away.  Theses bikes have great momentum on flat areas and are great climbers in the hills.  Lots of fun.

We recommend a great off road mountain bike area.  Bald Pate Mountain in New Jersey.  It is located only 7 miles from downtown Yardley.  Cross the Scudders Fall bridge into New Jersey (if you go Washington Crossing or Calhoun Bridge, watch the clearance, it is only about 8', don't smash your bike).  Go north on Rte 29.  Once through the light at Church Street, look for Fiddlers Creek road.  Make a right onto Fiddlers Creek and find parking up on your left about 1/8 mile.  Bald Pate is a tough climb (fantastic workout) but the views are great and the trails are alot of fun.  Bald Pate has a set of picnic tables at the top that people can relax at & enjoy the afternoon.

29 Inch Mountain Bikes

Bigger wheels roll easier over stuff.  These are great bikes for getting out to Bald Pate Mountain over in New Jersey.  Great climbers! They're also great for taking rides on the canal.
